Special Puja

Deities :Vaidyanathaswamy and ThaiyalNayaki are the presiding deities of this temple. The Selvamuthukkumaraswamy shrine here is also considered to be of importance. There are Shivalingams said to have been worshipped by Rama, Jatayu, Skanda, Surya and Angaraka and Angarakan.

Six worship services are offered each day.

The final worship service (arthayama puja) is offered to Skanda before being offered to Shiva.

The annual Bhrahmotsavams are celebrated in the months of Pankuni and Thai.

Skanda Sashti is celebrated in a grand manner

Every Tuesday evening, Angarakan (Sevvai) mounted on the Goat vahanam is taken around in side the temple praharam .

Lord murugan as selva muthukumaran showers his divine blessings to the devotees every month on the Karthika star (Natchtram) is special occasion for this temple. On that day sandal paste Abishekam is performed to Lord Selva muthukumaran (utsavar) in the spacious open hall called as Krithika mandapam .

Offerings for workshipping the God:

Sevvai is attired in red color and is offered with Thoor dhal and red arali flowers during Poojas.

Offerings of salt and pepper are made in this shrine. Offerings of unrefined sugar are placed in the temple tank Siddhamrita Theertham.
